Abstract

Three main personality profiles have been found that influence very negatively in any kind of intimacy relationship, whether short or long term one: psychopathy, Machiavellianism and narcissism. The group of three types of personality are called as the dark triad of personality. Several studies have researched the links between this dark triad of personality and romantic relationships, proving they use different poaching and mate retention tactics which lead to indicators of psychological abuse. Based on this, in this Thesis we study the associations between the three components of this dark triad of personality and the three components of love (intimacy, passion, and commitment) in couple relationships with a sample of university students.
