Abstract

In the present work, results obtained in two chromatic discrimination experiment with dårkness adaptation or prior photopigments bleaching are analyzed. The degree of the metamerism of the initial matchings are varied in both cases, and the results compared with those obtained for isomeric conditions. Failures in the colorimetric predictions for the metameric matching are found for the two experiments. This implies a non—total adequacy of the standard observer when the degree of metamerism changes. The possible rod—intrusion on these processes are also analyzed.
