Análisis de las fotografías de Julia Margaret Cameron en “Ilustraciones de los Idilios del rey y otros poemas de Tennyson”: Un estudio textual y contextual. Esta tesis se centra en una interpretación multidisciplinar de la retórica y el discurso fotográfico como herramientas narrativas consumadas para la poesía ya a principios del siglo XIX, al comienzo de la era fotográfica. Aportación fundamental fue la de la artista británica Julia Margaret Cameron, hoy en día considerada como fotógrafa pionera, y cuya imaginación y sensibilidad literaria dio su fruto en una perfecta y fotográfica Ut pictoria poesis en su libro de “Ilustraciones de los idilios del rey y otros poemas de Tennyson (1874-1875). Esta tesis ofrece un análisis detallado de las ilustraciones fotográficas con las que Cameron acompañó su propia selección de poemas en la obra de Tennyson, hasta entonces nunca visto en el mercado editorial ilustrativo de su tiempo. Este estudio también trata de su fascinante viaje hasta la culminación de su libro, además de su particular visión artística y estética dentro del contexto de su obra, todo aquello en lo que se basó para reinterpretar las palabras de este poeta en la cresta de su popularidad durante la época victoriana. Reading Julia Margaret Cameron’s Photographs in ‘Illustrations to Tennyson’s Idylls of the King and Other Poems:’ A Study in Context and Textuality. This thesis focuses on a prime example of how photography’s rhetoric and discourse were capable of providing a first-rate narrative tool in poetry in the early beginnings of this artistic medium. Circumstance that, together with the imagination and literary sensitivity of pioneer British photographer Julia Margaret Cameron, resulted in the perfect photographic Ut pictoria poesis of the time; Cameron's publication of Illustrations to Tennyson’s Idylls of the King and Other Poems (1874-1875). This thesis offers an in-depth analysis of her photo illustrations for her own selection of Tennyson’s poems, as never before seen in the illustrative book market at the time. This dissertation also deals with Cameron’s fascinating journey until the completion of her photobook as well as her unique artistic vision and personal style in the context of her oeuvre, upon which she based her reinterpretation of the words of the poet at the crest of his popularity in Victorian England.
