Zusammenfassung

An action whose outcome in not death, in which an individual deliberately and without anyones intervention, can cause damage, or ingests a substance over the therapeutic dose aim, is to make changes due the physical consequences arising from such acts. It can be called in many ways, Self Violence, self-harm, suicide, self-abuse, flogging, and mutilation. Favazza described three forms of presentation of self-harm. The first is called Mayor, which is the most rare and extreme. This form causes a permanent disfigurement, such as castration or limb amputation. The second form is called Stereotypical, and commonly manifests as repeated head blows, compression of the eyeballs and bites. The third form is the most common, and is defined as Surface. It is a type of self-injury that usually involves the skin. They do not want to annoy, irritate or enrage others. Self-injury is a behavioral response to an emotional state, and usually does not frustrate the professional, People, who hurt themselves, usually do that due to internal dynamics There are some sub cultural elements, which are the cause of certain types of self-harm, Giving meaning to pain has not been an easy issue; there are people who understand it more than cause selfharm. In the environment of the prison, there is an informal atmosphere, but, with its rules and values and the solidarity between prisoners, and between their hierarchical organizations, it can provide contagion in self-injured individuals behavioral social system. One of the purposes of self-harm in Spanish prisons is suicide. It is not the concrete achievement of specific goals like revoking a penalty, getting the resource transferred to a hospital, where the disciplinary regime is less severe, thereby increasing the chances of leakage, removing by default, holding preliminary investigations or trials. The internal, self-injured have some kind of mental imbalance, alteration of character, behavior or personality. They have more specific mental disorders, contemplating various cases. Self-injury is different from suicide; something basic to understand, a person, who actually attempts suicide, seeks to end all emotions. No proven relief is repeated frequently and have greater communication value. A person, who injures himself or herself, looks for feeling better. He/ she does not intend to die as a result of their actions. They just want to get some relief from their discomfort and manage to end unbearable emotions and overwhelming pressures. This explains why self-harm can be addictive. When one has a quick and easy way of making the bad things go away for a while, they would not want to indulge in a more time consuming method which requires more effort. However, in the long run, the negative consequences of this behavior are added and people do ask for help. For a long time, they have tried to identify the factors associated with this problem, so, that a selfadministered questionnaire that includes the main risk factors and the in mates who cause self-harm are compared to an internal control. All variable studied had a higher prevalence in prisoners. Cuts and burns are the most recognized forma of self-harm, Head trauma was the most reported history of medical illness.
