Resumen

El síndrome de Landau-Kleffner, que fue descrito en 1957, se caracteriza por una afasia infantil adquirida asociada a un electroencefalograma anormal en la zona temporal izquierda, que generalmente va acompañada de ataques epilépticos y problemas de conducta. Este trabajo describe las características generales del síndrome a través del análisis psicológico de un caso que se ha seguido a lo largo de 6 años. Se exponen y analizan los resultados obtenidos en una serie de pruebas donde se demuestra el importante déficit que existe en el área verbal y en todas aquellas otras en que lo lingüístico cumple un papel muy importante. Se exponen los tratamientos más debatidos en la bibliografía, tomando partida por el educativo y rehabilitador, finalizando con una muestra de sus logros académicos
