Lesiones orales asociadas a la infección por el virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana en una población de 510 enfermos

Abstract

A srudy was made of rhe oral manifestarions in 51 O patients wirh immunodeficiency virus infect ion (377 man-133 woma11- 111ediun age 29. 7 years). The fo llowing risk groups were esfablished: intravenous drug users 391 (76,6%), heterosexuals 53 ( 10,4%), homosexuals 47 (9,2%), homosexuals and infrevenous drug users 14 (2,7%) and hemophilicltransfusionals parienrs 5 (0,9%) . The oral lesions, in decreasing arder of frequency, were: periodontal lesions (67,4%), candidosis (60,4%), parchy tangue (27,8%), hairy leukoplakia ( 12,5%), herpes virus lesions (4,3%), oral hype1pigmenfafion (3,3%), Kaposi sarcoma (1,7%), vascular lesions (1 ,7%), recurrenf aphthous ulceration (0,9%), fichen planus, no-Hodgkin lymphoma, ulcera fions NOS and tuberculosis of rhe tangue (0,19%). There are a relarion berween oral lesions and CD4 lymphocyte values.
