Desarrollo de un sistema de información ambiental para Cantabria basado en indicadores en el área de residuos = Development of an environmental information system to apply in Cantabria región: waste area indicators

Zusammenfassung

This thesis consists on the development of a regional environmental information system for the waste área, developed to monitor waste policies and provide environmental information. An analysis about indicators and the problem of waste information have been performed and a methodology to obtain three sets of indicators (Basis, Specific and Transversal) has been proposed. This methodology consists of seven stages: (1) synthesis of indicator sets, (2) analysis, (3) evaluation of the indicators, (4) application of Cantabria data, interpretation of results and evaluation in accordance with the objectives of the set, (5) public review, dissemination of results and updating; (6) improvement through a SWOT analysis, and (7) aggregation indicators for each system and its representation using the �Dashboard of sustainability�. It also applies the aggregate indicator Carbon Footprint to the overall management of municipal waste.
