Resum
The assessment of the coastal impacts due to tsunamis is the first step in the tsunami risk evaluation for a prone area. This thesis analyzes two aspects of this evaluation: (i)the numerical calculation of the tsunami maximum run-up, presenting a new methodology, applicable to great scales, based on the generation of a tsunami run-up calculations database on real topo-bathymetric profiles; and (ii) the tsunami-coastal structure interaction, and, more specifically, rubble-mound breakwaters, presenting new conclusions focused on improving the behavior of marine structures under tsunami attack, based on the results of laboratory physical experiments.
