Resumen

This research in main terms proposes determine the mechanisms for Quality Assurance that aloud the achievement of the graduate profile and the pedagogical area for the Educational programs of the Adventist University of Chile. In specific intended to describe the mechanisms settled by the programs, regarding to development and realization, internal and external dissemination, review and updating of the graduate profile, its articulation with the curricular structure of the undergraduate program, to verify integration of educational standards in the curriculum, as well as distinguish and contrast the devices performing degrees to follow the development of the graduate profile at the beginning and in the formative process. The paradigm of this study is qualitative with quantitative nuances, descriptive, interpretive, and not experimental; it uses the “case study” methodology. It combines four kinds of methods for data collection; surveys, interviews, focus groups and document analysis. The results of this research point to identify which mechanisms are being used to finalize the graduate profile of different degrees within the framework of the accreditation criteria, which aspects are being addressed effectively and those which are weakly implemented or are absent in the formation process. The above with the purpose that education degrees implement improvement actions in pursuit of quality assurance in initial teacher training.
