Abstract
Documenting cultural heritage is an essential task, not only to transmit it but to study and restore it more easily. Documenting is not an easy task. It is usually done by hand of aided by different techniques like photography. Using a laser scanner doen't solve totally the problem, because the generated triangles mesh doesn't give any ellaborated information like plots do, where we can identify walls, doors, windows or columns. This paper describes a proposed process to generate automatically such kind of documents, focusing on a simplification algorithm based on silhouette detection over the model.
