Resumen
The future implementation of bilingual undergraduate degrees in the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Granada necessitates the creation of new curriculum materials, in English, to facilitate the acquisition of knowledge. Moreover, the use of new multimedia technologies related to virtual representation of reality, like the avatar we propose, it is an excellent teaching resource to have a positive and dynamic influence in the process of teaching - learning. Objectives: The main objective is to introduce the use of avatars in the subject area of Quantitative Methods for Economics and Business, as a tool to provide educational materials in English and give students general information and supplemental materials of the subjects involved. Method: An interactive CD-ROM containing the avatar, displayed in English, will offer the basic information, relationships problems and multiple choice questions. Results: We hope this material enhances the acquisition of specific competences and facilitates learning in English. Conclusion: The use of avatars serves as support of the teaching process in the bilingual degrees framework and promotes active virtual learning.
