Resum

The Health Technological Park (PTS) is a major urban operation that is being developed in Granada. The objective of this research is to analyze the PTS operation as well as the role played by this new urban space in the Andalusian city and its metropolitan area. For this reason, we have been carrying out a bibliographic and documentary analysis, an exploratory study based on orthophotographies of the area of study in the last two decades and in the direct field work. The structure of this research starts with an introduction about technological parks in Spain, continues with a presentation of the main characteristics of the area of study and with a diachronic analysis of the PTS transformation operation, throughout these past years and in the future. Finally, this investigation ends with some territorial implications derived from PTS´s construction. The urbanistic operation of the Health Technological Park of Granada has had an important impact in the city and its metropolitan area. This influence covers economic, social, environmental and political questions, as well as land use and space configuration, infrastructure and accessibility, landscape and urban marketing issues. The PTS has been configured as a new urban piece in the city of Granada, an area of incipient centrality that has transformed urban landscape offering an innovative image, modifying the urban plot and the space configuration.
