Abstract

This paper shows the results of the use of windowing of Acoustic Emission (AE) signals to distinguish between noisy signals coming from mechanical friction and signals coming from concrete cracking. These signals were recorded during the last experiment carried out on a porched reinforced concrete structure subjected to seismic loads applied wiht the shake table of the Univesity of Granada. The AE signals were recorded by means low frequency piezoelectric sensors placed on the specimen, in order to monitor its damage behaviour.
