Abstract

The modern project of state school, like configuration of the citizenship in common values, has been seen seriously questioned, in special by the «multicultural proposals». The speech of quality and mercantile competition of the neoliberalism, and the increasing social duality. The recognition of the differences must be conjugated with a common curriculum, the neoliberal proposals of educative projects, differentiated to election of the clients, must be contrarested with the defense of an integration of the citizenship. Thirdly, as opposed to the increase of the social exclusion, the school acquires a paper of first order in the cohesion and social integration. In the article it is analyzed how the education for the citizenship, properly reformulated in our present conjuncture, can be an answer to these problems.
