Breast cancer is the most frequent tumor in women worldwide and its treatment happens necessarily by surgery. Objective: The purpose of this work was to draw up a summary profile of the women in the study, verifying the incidence and type of complications in mastectomized women in Granada. and describing the most frequent postsurgical limitations. Patients and method: This is a descriptive study, conducted with a sample of 16 women belonging to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) and Association of Mastectomized Women (AMAMA), which decided to participate voluntarily in the study after receiving information about it. The data was obtained by personal interview. Results: The summary profile of the women in the study was as follows: women aged 50 to 71; with a level of primary education, unskilled workers, retired, with radical mastectomy more lymph node emptying, with lymphedema and infection being the most frequent complications. The Later limitations affected the activities of daily life and sexual activities. There was no li mitations for religious and social activities. Conclusion: The study allowed us to conclude that the mastectomized woman needs to be integrated in a support group with people who present the same difficulty, to share the doubts, uncertainties and decisions that facilitate their integration in the family and society, improving their quality of life.
