Abstract

The main aim of this study was to verify if any gender differences exist in normative orientation towards work. Like wise, we analyzed the impact of the occupational level on the evaluations of normative orientations towards work. A sample of 267 workers -128 malesand 139 females- was chosen from three different jobs. Results reveal that there were no sig-nificant gender differences in normative orientation towards work as a right nor in normative orientation towards work as a obligation. Nevertheless, significant differences were foundwith regard to occupational level, in such a way that workers who held jobs with a loweroccupational level showed a higher evaluation of work as an obligation than those who heldjobs with a higher occupational level.
