This article is divided in three parts. In the first part, some aspects connected with women's status of Moroccan rural circle are analyzed: family organization, average age of marriage, schooling, work, birth rate, etc. The second part offers a panoramic on the feminine illiteracy in rural environment, with a special reference to the region of Tangiers-Tetuan where the basic fieldwork for the last part of this article has been realised, that gathers the results of a survey carried out between 168 women who were doing alphabetization courses in four rural communes of the Outskirt of Asila.
