Abstract

Centaurea boissieri DC. and C. resupinata Coss. (Asteraceae) in the Iberian Peninsula. On the base of a previous taxonomic study dealing Centaurea boissieri DC. group, previously recognized as section Willkommia Blanca, the two species with the larger area of geographical distribution and most taxonomic complexity are studied. We recognize 7 subspecies for C. boissieri DC. and 2 for C. resupinata Coss. in the Iberian Peninsula. A key for the identification of the subspecies are provided, as well as information about the geographical distribution, ecology, and the morphological variability associated to the introgresion processes with other species. A new combination is proposed: C. boissieri subsp. integrifolia (Willk.) Blanca and Suár.-Sant.
