Zusammenfassung

El concepte d'internacionalització està àmpliament difós en la bibliografia sobre gestió. Però últimament també s'ha començat a utilitzar en l'àmbit de les institucions d'ensenyament superior. En aquest article investigarem la internacionalització en les institucions universitàries amb dues perspectives, la teòrica i la pràctica. Per a aconseguir el nostre objectiu, hem donat una importància especial a la metodologia utilitzada per a avaluar la internacionalització en les institucions d'ensenyament superior des d'un punt de vista tant qualitatiu com quantitatiu. Ens hem centrat en l'estudi de les tres classificacions d'institucions d'ensenyament superior més àmpliament acceptades: Times Higher Education Supplement, Academic Ranking of World Universities i Webometrics Ranking. Hem vist que, encara que la variable de la internacionalització es té en compte en aquestes classificacions mitjançant diversos factors, el seu pes en la puntuació global encara és limitat. A més, els resultats que hem obtingut demostren que el grau d'internacionalització de les institucions universitàries amb prou feines determina la seva posició final en les classificacions, ja que aquesta depèn d'altres aspectes institucionals com la qualitat de l'ensenyament i la qualitat de la investigació, entre altres factors. Així mateix, hem vist que els indicadors d'internacionalització utilitzats en les classificacions més corrents d'institucions universitàries, com la proporció de personal docent internacional i la proporció d'estudiants internacionals, disten molt de reflectir les principals variables que intervenen en els processos d'internacionalització.
