Abstract
The period of time which runs from May 2009 to May 2010 has become an annual festivity for Melilla, where it is known as 'el Año Nieto'. The celebration wishes to commemorate the arrival of the artist to the Spanish and North-African city (May 14th 1909), where he will develop his full career up to the year of his death, 1954. This essay aims at referring to the various activities and programmes organised in his honour as well as studying in depth the figure of the architect, including his life and works.
