Abstract

The main aim of this study has been the development of a calculation that allows to measure the contribution of the corporal segments' movements to the vertical displacement of the center of gravity (CG) of the whole body and to derive the analysis of the temporary sequence during the execution of the jumps, using for it, the analysis of video images (2D and 3D) and any model of the human body known the masses and locations of the segments. The method allows his application to the take-off phase for any type of jump and in real situation of competition, showing the individualized data for every instant. A practical application for his evaluation has been realized for the countermovement vertical jumps, using 2d photogrammetry and a simplified model of five segments. The results allow to confirm the suitability of the method to evaluate the segmental contribution in the vertical jumps, showing in his practical application, that the median contribution of the arms were 9 % of the vertical displacement of the CG; the trunk and the head, 25 %; the thighs, 28 %; the legs, 22 % and the feet 15 %.
