Résumé

La introducción de la tecnología de la información (TI) se ha convertido en una necesidad para competir en la mayoría de las industrias, por lo que la simple implementación de una estrategia de TI no es suficiente para lograr un mejor desempeño empresarial. La revisión de la literatura muestra que la TI es una herramienta útil solo cuando se combina con otros recursos y prácticas de la empresa. El propósito de este documento es analizar la complementariedad entre TI y uno de los conjuntos de prácticas organizacionales más prevalentes y bien establecidos, las prácticas de gestión de la calidad (QMP). El modelado de ecuaciones estructurales con datos recopilados de directivos de 230 empresas españolas muestra una relación positiva y significativa entre TI y QMP. Los hallazgos nos brindan una comprensión profunda de ambas disciplinas y varias conclusiones para su éxito.
