Abstract

Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome is a clinical disorder caracterized by labial ar facial oedema,faciaL palsy andfisured tongue. A low incidence of this entity was reported in the literature, but probably in some cases the diagnosis of the disorder is not realized. The complete presentation of the syndrome is infrequent, and generally, incomplete manifestations are seen. Early manifestations are frequently extraoral symptoms, although intraoral manifestations often appear later. A clinicaL case of Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome is reported and severa! considerations about etiology, clinic, diagnosis and treatment are presented.
