Abstract

Communication and information technologies have become an important part and integrative of the modern concept of Health Sciences. Any investigator, with a relatively scarce knowledge of information retrieval systems, can perform a bibliographic research through the computer obtaining enough results, at least on the number of references. Data bases represent a revolution in knowledge management. Indeed, the use of those databases in nutrition to store or retrieving information is very frequent, and it is shared through internet among scientists. However, with the increasing available scientific bibliography, it is not always being sure to find the relevant studies as they relate with a particular topic with determined limits since they are disperses or simply they are not adequately classified. So, search and retrieval of appropriate studies require the utilization of specific knowledge about the sources of information and that of the methodology to find and select the best search equations, as well as the selection of the most relevant documents
