Resum
The main goal of this project is to determinate IL-1 production capacity by blood cell cultures previously stimulated by S. Oralis. For this study samples were taken from a population sufering periodontitis. Afterwards the results were compared with the control population. Simultaneously, IL-1 levels in serum and salive are measured and the results are compared with those of the blood cell cultures. The results are as follows the S. Oralis causes the production of IL-1. S. Oralis causes the production of IL-1 in a 35,6% of the petients suffering periodontitis. By contrast IL-1 was produced in only 6% of controls. There is no evidence in the relationship between the production of IL-1 and the periodontitis levels.
