Abstract

The best straight-wire techniques used in orhodontics are: Andrew's, Ricketts' Bioprogressive, Roth 's and Root's Level Anchorage. The Andrews' technique is mainly characterized by the elimination of need for wire bends. Instead an straight-wire is used to be inserted in the brackets' slots. These have torque, angulation, offset and inset built into them to produce a three dimensional movement in the different teeth.
