Resumo

The project consisted of an approach to the curriculum for the development of teaching contents on the use of the bicycle as a means of transport, followed by a practical proposal of eleven sessions addressed to students attending Compulsory Secondary School and frst year of the Upper Secondary School. The aim was to form a macro didactic unit to be applied transversally during 5 years. The main objective of this project is to encourage adolescents to use the bicycle as a means of transport to their educational center and to develop cyclist and responsible attitudes in students. The fact that this macro unit cover fve years, make it possible to acquire values of responsibility in both teachers and students, favoring continuity and / or commitment throughout the educational stage. Moreover, the progressive change in students’ habits, they way to move to the center, and the modifcation of passive to active behaviors were also possible to achieve during this period.
