Abstract
Introduction: This study address as main topic the importance of emotional intelligence in teaching and the effect of the physical activity in improving this kind of intelligence. Objectives: We intend to know the state of the matter about the importance that teachers give to be trained in emotional intelligence, observe if it is carried out any specific training about this intelligence in teaching as well as research the influence that physical activity can have in improving emotional intelligence. Method: A literature review on different databases, with a time span of 10 years. Conclusions: Teachers consider that emotional competence is very important for a good professional development, that deeper training on the issue is needed, and that the practice of regular physical activity is an influential factor to improve the emotional intelligence.
