The purpose of this paper is to analyze the physical self-concept and its relationship with the variables age, sex and sports. In the study participated 230 adolescents of the outlying neighborhoods of Granada (Spain), aged between 12 and 18 years old (M = 15.47; SD = 1.87), of which 117 are boys and girls 113, 143 made some sports and 87 not. The Physical Self-Concept (SelfDescription) Questionnaire (PSDQ) has been used to assess this construct. The descriptive and inferential analyses carried out show that: from the peripheral neighborhoods of Granada city teenagers have a positive physical self-concept, physical self-concept increases progressively from the first stage of adolescence (preadolescence) to the last (late adolescence), boys presented a more positive than the girls physical self-concept, teens who carried out some sports have better physical self-concept versus those that do not practice it. In short, the variables age, sex and sports have an influence on the level of physical self-concept in the adolescence stage.
