Abstract

This paper discusses a 13th century gravestone found in the village of Nigüelas (Lecrin Valley, Granada). It is the first news that provide us the archaeological remains. The finding is a coincidence; Laborers and Masons that found it performing works released it to the owner of housing. His study allows to know the date, preparation of the tombstone, materials, epigraphy, ornaments, etc. It is an extraordinary piece by its archaeological value. It backs us to the beginnings of the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada.
