The persistence of temporary teeth longer than the foreseen date for their exfoliation is a very common phenomenon. In order to work properly on these teeth with this problem, we need to have some clear concepts to decide when and how to do so. We shall point out not only some general criteria to be taken into account but also some diagnostic means to be used. We present an enumeration of the teeth presenting the mentioned pathology to carry out this classification taking in consideration the foreseen dates for teeth eruption. The possible pathologies in each dental group as well as the proper treatment to be followed in each specific problem have been shown.
