Abstract
This paper aims to show an early entry of the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, in the Peterborough versión. The entry deals with an issue related to Anglo-Saxon politcal affairs and includes a reference from a Latin Chronicle to Charles The Great in Spain, and the attack in Pampelune and Saragossa. The main point of the paper is concerned with the consideration of the historiography of the Heptarchy, a period of major interest for the study of Anglo-Saxon England.
