Abstract

The works performed in the ravine of Viznar provide forensic evidence confirming that crimes against humanity were committed in the province of Granada in general, and in the historiographic cases of Viznar in particular. These crimes were committed during the period between the 1936 military coup and the subsequent Francoist dictatorship. This essay aims to shed new light in the historical debate through an interdisciplinary methodology that uses archaeology and forensic anthropology, as well as through the provision of expert and empirical evidence to substantiate the initiation of legal proceedings.
