De la desindustrialización madura a la desindustrialización prematurala dinámica e inflexión del debate teórico

Resumen

Resumen: Este artículo tiene por objetivo proporcionar una revisión de la literatura económica del fenómeno de la desindustrialización como una fase del patrón del cambio estructural de la economía global en las últimas décadas. Este análisis permite identificar que la desindustrialización puede ser el resultado tanto de una transición exitosa y positiva como de una transformación patológica y negativa de la economía. Estas son las dos dimensiones fundamentales que determinan el punto de inflexión del fenómeno desde la perspectiva del desarrollo económico: la desindustrialización madura, como una tendencia común del crecimiento económico de los países más avanzados, y la desindustrialización prematura, como patrón estructural de los países en desarrollo. Esta distinción revive el debate sobre la diferencia entre los factores determinantes de la desindustrialización entre las regiones desarrolladas y en desarrollo y advierte sobre el impacto global del rápido proceso de desindustrialización que, de hecho, se ha intensificado con el tiempo, produciéndose cada vez más temprano en el proceso de desarrollo.
