Análisis del estigma y las atribuciones en la cobertura periodística de una balacera en un colegio privado en Monterrey, México

Resumen

Análisis de contenido para explorar la posible presencia de tendencias estigmatizadoras y atribuciones en medios impresos de Monterrey, México, en la noticia de un estudiante de secundaria que realizó una balacera en el aula con saldo de cuatro heridos, divulgándose que padecía depresión. Se analizó la cobertura de los diarios El Norte y Milenio, entre el 18 de enero (un día después de los hechos) y el 18 febrero de 2017, recopilando 277 unidades informativas, las cuales fueron categorizadas por jueces independientes según se trataran sobre el perpetrador, las víctimas, políticas, religión, comunidad, salud, medios y finanzas. Los resultados coinciden con otras investigaciones que reportan una mejoría en la cobertura de la enfermedad mental en los últimos años.
