The structure of the Subbetic Triassic Units (Betic Cordillera) has been considered chaotic. Even so, there are several common tectonic characteristics repeated in many points. The knowledge of the lithostratigraphic units forming the Triassic sediments, permits to stablish the detailed structure of several sectors. In them has been recognized three groups of subunits. The first is formed by sediments from the Majanillos formation (Muschelkalk limestones). The second by the sediments of the Jaen Keuper Group, in which it is occasionally individualized the dolomites and gypsum of Cerro Molina (K4-k5 formation). The third one corresponds to the olistostromic mass, which include, as a whole, the previous subunits. Generally considered, this olistostrome even comprise the great Subbetic Units formed fundamentaly by jurassic and Cretaceous rocks, making up that what can be called the Subbetic Olistostromic Complex.
