Abstract

This time AH focuses its contents on the different epidemic episodes occurred in Andalusia from the Middel Ages to the twentieth century. Black death, cholera, smallpox, yellow fever, spanish flu and, nowadays, Covid‐19, plagued large subsets of the Andalusian population. As a result, these invisibles and deadly enemies ended up conditioning people's daily lives, public policies and religious beliefs. In our past, as well as in our present, urban population was subjected to lockdowns and quarantines while commerce suffered severe limitations. Death was not only massive, but also selective. Once again, the gap between rich and poor people became wider.
