Résumé

The case of a male skeleton found in the cemetery of the hermitage of San Baudelio de Berlanga (Berlanga de Duero, Soria, Spain) dated by radiocarbon between 1151-1259 cal AD is presented. The individual has characteristic signs of strong muscular development and three cranial lesions: one blunt trauma with survival, a second trauma and a surgical trepanation performed on this one. The intervention was carried out by drilling technique with a metallic trephine and shows no signs of survival. Given the injuries and physical characteristics of the individual, it cannot be ruled out that he might have practiced a military activity in life.
