Introduction: The hydatid disease is caused by the infection of the Echinococcus granulosus, endemic in countries that are dedicated to the raising of ovine and bovine cattle. It most frequently affects to the liver and the lungs. The muscular hydatidosis is quite rare and normally it must to dissemination from a intrahepatic, pulmonary or subphrenic location. The primary form is exceptional due to the local conditions of the skeletal muscle that makes difficult to the growth of the parasite and the development of the disease. Clinical case: We presented the case of a located hydatid cyst in the lateral vast muscle of the thigh, without evidence of sistemic affectation. Conclusions.- The possibility of hydatid disease, especially in endemic areas, should always be considered in the differential diagnosis of soft tissues masses
