Representación mediática de las deportistas en los Juegos Olímpicos: una revisión sistemática

Resumen

Este estudio tiene como objetivo realizar una revisión sistemática de la literatura existente sobre la cobertura femenina durante los Juegos Olímpicos. Para ello, se han recogido un total de 144 registros de la base de datos Web of Science, que han sido cribados a n = 58 para ser estudiados en profundidad. Se ha realizado un análisis de contenido con los datos recogidos a partir de las siguientes categorías temáticas: evolución por años de la producción científica, tipologías de estudios llevados a cabo, países y regiones con mayor trayectoria en la temática, citas, autores y principales hallazgos y líneas de futuro. Los resultados mostraron que los estudios se desarrollan principalmente en Estados Unidos, sobre todo en los últimos años, con especial incidencia en 2015, en áreas como las ciencias sociales y la comunicación y centrados en mayor medida en la televisión, aunque con un creciente interés por los nuevos medios digitales. De forma general, estos siguen encontrando falta de equidad en la cantidad de cobertura, así como una diferenciación de género en la representación del deporte femenino. Se propone profundizar en nuevos estudios para desvelar si tales desequilibrios perviven o se avanza hacia mayores cotas de equidad.
