Resumo

The cutmarks in human bones, as a consequence of any manipulation, are described in this study. The differential diagnostic is discussed in each one of these marks. A first classification of the cutmarks is performed upon the marks in the bone and the cut off marks of the bone. The first marks are a consequence of the cutting of the soft tissues on the bone. Meanwhile these are classified as skinning, defleshing, scrapping and disarticulating marks. The cut off marks are a consequence of the intention in which the bones where cut, to reduce the body in pieces or any other activity. These marks are classified according to the tool in the following: By a serrated cutting edge tool (Saw) By a tool with a smooth edge and light mass (Knife) By a tool with a smooth edge and heavy mass (Axe/ machete) By an abrasive and giratory tool (Circular saw) By a tool with an oscillating edge (Vibrant saw)
