Abstract

«Arts-based Research» and «Artistic Research» are two innovative methodologicalapproaches in different areas of the heritage education. The main purpose ofthese two methodologies, in the specific area of the visual arts is to produce new visualimages on the problems of learning about heritage. At the University of Granada wehave developed several projects mainly in two areas: a) on pre-service teacher’ trainingfor primary and secondary education in the context of museums of ancient art andcontemporary art collections; and b) in art making (drawings, paintings, sculptures andinstallations) after ancient visual heritage. Both lines are perfectly complementary inthe research of the processes of individual and collective learning in school and adultpopulation. The main results are presented as research photo essays describing andinterpret the findings.
