Abstract
This study was carried out in three consecutive and interlinked phases. The purpose of the first phase was to analyse the soft facial tissues of a sample of healthy adults from southern Spain with normal occlusion in order to establish anthropometric parameters of reference as well as to analyse sexual dimorphism. In the second phase of the study, the efficacy and reliability of both the threedimensional imaging devices iPad Pro® (in conjunction with the Bellus 3D® application) and the software Geomagic Control X®, designed to manipulate three-dimensional digital files, was evaluated. Both systems provide numerous benefits for clinical applications due to their novelty, precision, ease of use and lower cost. In the third phase, the information and methodology evaluated in the previous phases has been applied to a sample of patients treated orthodontically using clear aligners (Invisalign®). In particular, the changes in facial soft tissues resulting from orthodontic treatment were evaluated.
