Resumo

This communication will present an excerpt of the analysis of two clinical interviews, consisting inidentifying whether the difficulties that occurred in the previous stage of experimentation of theTeaching Model designed based on Von Neumann's mathematical model for the conceptualizationof natural numbers persist; or there are new difficulties. The methodological theoretical frameworkis that of Local Theoretical Models (MTL) and its four components: Formal, Cognitive,Communication and Teaching. With the contribution of Semiotics, the categories of analysis weredesigned to observe and explain difficulties in the use of the Mathematical Sign System (SMS)involved in the construction of the first natural numbers, using iteration and the recursive process.From the results it can be inferred that there is possibilities to enhance abstract mathematicalthinking in students of early ages.
