Resumen
Este trabajo ofrece una revisión sobre cómo se miden las preferencias por el tiempo en economía. Se explica la teoría estándar sobre el descuento temporal y cómo fue evolucionando su medición hasta llegar a los dos mecanismos de medición más utilizados actualmente en la investigación experimental: las listas de precios múltiples y los presupuestos convexos. También se discute sobre el origen de las diferencias individuales en descuento temporal y su correlación con otros comportamientos
