Abstract
In this article we put in value the sketches sent to the cartographer Tomás López as source for the study of the perception and representation of the local territory in the 18th century. Faced with scientific cartography that tries to reproduce the abstract space, this type of images move us to this place loaded with values and meanings: the landscape; as well as to a type of apprehension of the environment based on the body like point of reference
