Abstract

This research addresses a climate‐tourism study for the practice of hiking. Ex situ estimations have been carried out from online surveys. The questions are elaborated according to the theoretical‐conceptual issues in tourism climatology. This is based on the influence of the atmospheric facets on the enjoyment, comfort and health and risk for the tourists. The assessment of the survey respondents about atmospheric environment has been organized in three fundamental categories, according to the degree of climatic suitability for the practice of hiking. The results reflect clear differences with respect to other studies of valuation of the climatic resource for the tourist activity. In future works will continue deepening in the perception of the demand on the atmospheric resource for the development the hiking.
