Abstract
In this work are resumed and interpreted the existing data on the Jurassic of Betic Ranges, specially between the Sierra de Segura and Gibraltar. First part is dedicated to the description of lithostratigraphic characteristics of Series, grouped in some common unities for Subbetic Zone, as well as for Prebetic and Betic Zone. Some graphics on the reconstruction of sedimentary basin are elaborated on the basis of these data. A map of distribution of various unities is elaborated, including also the schematised stratigraphic section for each one. Second part is dedicated to the most characteristic microfacies, correlated wíth Ammonites fauna, specially in the Central part of Subbetic Zone. Some illustrations of most representative microfacies are also included. Finally it is compiled almost the totality of bibliography dealing on the Jurassic of these Ranges from the most variated stratigraphical and paleontological aspects.
