Abstract
Syncretism of the three major Mediterranean civilizations (Catholic, Muslim and Jewish), and ancient ways of living and working, has led to the construction in these regions of a diverse architectural heritage, which is reflected both in urban landscapes as well as in the agricultural ones, forming an essential element in defining the identity of this territory. These cultural landscapes bring together a large number of integrated architecture and ethnographic components. Structures described in this paper present singular architectural solutions, using traditional building materials from the nearby natural environment, giving them a unique beauty. Therefore, these cultural systems need to be valued, to prevent their destruction and promote reuse.
