Zusammenfassung

Geological, petrological, geochemical and mineralogical data indicate that the Garlitos stock, about 20 km NW of Almaden, Spain, is a type-I granodiorite, which intruded at high T (approx 1000o) during the Middle Carboniferous. The ores are related to fractures later than the granodiorite intrusion and are composed of Cu-Pb-Zn sulphides. They are epithermal to mesothermal deposits, mainly related to the local granitic rocks, but in the Garlitos area they appear to be related to concealed granitic bodies, probably type-S. Chemical analyses (36) of samples from the Garlitos stock and adjacent rocks are presented, with CIPW norms.-P.Br.
